TODAY'S Izzit Just Me©?

There’s a new verbal tic on the am VRWC raadio circuit: calling those in gubbmint and Congress the elite. I’m guessing [hoping] this started out in an ironic, arch kinda way but I’m hearing it more and more often in the last week and I’d like to point something out:
This is NOT Maria Antoinette’s France—there IS no “Ruling Class,” NO elite. This is AMERICA: Congress is the hired help. And it’s about damned time we remind ‘em of it before we have 500 or so Cynthia McKinneys running around DC.
