Spin on the balloons?!?!?
It's the DhimmoCrap Way We all know the ending of any political convention -- balloons and confetti falling. [when did that start, anyway?] This is what AP via USATodaytoday reports about the big balloon drop last night.BOSTON (AP) — The Democrats have a balloon problem. John Kerry concluded his acceptance speech Friday night, the jubilant convention crowd cheered and the balloons dropped. A few of them. Too few. "Go balloons," said convention producer Don Mischer, instructing the balloon droppers. "Go balloons. Go balloons!" His voice was becoming increasingly frantic...
I've done this job. It was called "stage manager" where I did it but the essence is the same. There is one person in charge of all the details of a staged performance. A TV director ho calls the camera shots, a radio producer cues the bumper music and the commercials, a stage manager calls the lighting, entrances and exits and special effects. This guy knew exactly what was supposed to happen, how and when. That is the job.
"I don't see anything happening," he said angrily. ... Long minutes after the place was supposed to be a blizzard of balloons and confetti, Mischer was still shouting that it wasn't happening, at least it wasn't right.
I know that feeling... The feed from the Producer was available to the media for timing purposes only: but CNN, the pros, broadcast it. Now here is what the DhimmoCraps reflexively felt they had to say:
Stephen Jewett, a DNC official involved in podium operations, said there was no malfunction with the balloon drop. The balloons were timed to come down slowly, he said, making "for a longer ending, which was nice."
So Mister Jewett, are you willing to look Mister Mischer in the eye ant tell him that he didn't know what the damn balloons were supposed to do -- what the plan was? How pathetic is it that you are completely incapable of saying, "yeah, the balloons got stuck. But they looked nice coming down slowly, didn't they?"
