oooooo.... shiny....
Look! A Moose!!!
While we’re supposed to be looking over here [manufactured complete with hand-gauged “right-wing” outrage factor], what’s really happening is over there:
House lawmakers are getting closer to a vote on a sweeping energy bill that would cap greenhouse gases, with a vote possible on Friday,
Call and write today.
"Under the guise of reducing carbon emissions, Democrats are poised to force anyone who drives a car, buys an American-made product, or flips on a light switch to pay a national energy tax,” wrote House Republican Leader John Boehner
Yeah. And that’s only the beginning of it. And for No Discernible Benefit. To Anyone.
...except Algore.
U.S. House Ag Committee Chairman Collin Peterson and authors of the Waxman-Markey cap-and-trade bill have reached an agreement that would allow farmers and ranchers to participate in a market-based carbon offset program. According to Peterson, the agreement also addresses concerns about indirect land-use provisions that target U.S. crop producers and exempts agriculture from the definition of a capped sector. ...Details of the agriculture agreement are not yet available.
Great. Now I can get rid of all those pesky [yet delicious] cows and plant me some inedible but potentially lucrative carbon credits....
