Of Popeye, Patterico and Payoffs
I lightheartedly put out a challenge to Name That Tune and fellow Bear Flagger Patrick got it in one note!! [I'm gonna hafta work a leeedle harder 'round here . . .] The Prize? Five [5] Trackbacks. I know I've read rather more than a few interesting posts over at the ol' Pontifications of late. Let's go choose: Patrick says a long and meaningful "farewell" to the Schiavo Controversy while demonstrating yet again that it is better to think for one's self than simply "trust the authorities," be they medical or media. Being of a fair predisposition, Patrick also gives the Dirty Dog Trainer its due as it braves the revenge of the PC and reports as news the ...er, uneven playing field which must be braved for admission to a UC school. There is a great review of the new Disney Concert Hall. Apparently Mouse Ears aren't going to be required garb . . . Another notable post in the Patterico Series of Farewell to the Schiavo Controversy covers the interview with LarryKing. These are *some creepy people* indeed. Patrick, thanks for listening to this so we didn't have to. In the long battle against language-as-instrument-of-obfuscation Patrick points out to the dupes and dopes who allow themselves to be used as pawns in the "Anti-war" demonstrations exactly who they're working for. [eg "The Iraqi anti-colonial resistance" is ANSWER's code phrase for "jihadist suicide bombers."] There is much more very good reading at Patterico's Pontifications -- but I only promised five [5] TBs, so you'll have to form the habit of checking for yourselves. [now; if he'd only get a comments feature . . .]Statistics
