For those wishing ∏eh ∅ne "well"
magnanimity, while generous, is not appropriate
We are in the midst of an ‘economic crisis,’ or so I am told day in and all day long. A crisis bad enough, it is rumored, that Shifty Secy. Paulson threatened Congress members with Marshal Law if he did not get his bailout booty.
Now, as the first round of funds disappears without a ripple, the second is readied and the situation continues to worsen, so I am told, we have inaugurated a POTUS who deems it appropriate to dress his first lady in threads of gold, liken himself to another President whom he resembles not at all, and throw not one but ten balls in his own honor.
On this day he warns us that “Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some...” without even a break in cadence to acknowledge the irony. On this day, while his citizens on his watch are laid off or fired, he allows to be spent $170 million on an orgy of pop-stars, train trips, food, decorations and such fantasy adulation as has never before been seen.
For those who are “willing to give him time” to “see how he does,” I offer this as example; his first decision. It divulges as much information as one ought to need about the man’s priorities, judgement, consideration, empathy and Values.
