Imagine the government having its nose up your sleeve in every activity you do. Well, hey—that’s Britain,eh? Poor sots in that Dhimmi Socialist hell…

July 31 (Bloomberg)—British Prime Minister Tony Blair and California’s Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger agreed to create a market for trading carbon emissions between the U.K. and the most populous U.S. state, as both leaders aim to encourage energy- efficient technologies.
...Britain has signed up to the European Union’s Emissions Trading Scheme, and Kelly said authorities will look at applying some of its principles in California and even consider ways of including the state in the EU program.
I think not.
As the government controls the supply of permits to emit carbon, limiting their supply can discourage the burning of oil and coal that in turn generates carbon dioxide, which scientists blame for global warming. The system benefits nuclear and wind energy that produce no carbon dioxide.
So Ahnold just signed us on for more coal powered electric plants. [BTW, CA doesn’t mine coal; we gotta drag it in by train. Lollypop-powered trains, I’m sure.] See, we can’t have nuclear plants—even though the Frentch can do it, which proves a ‘tarded macaque can do it—because we have enviro-Nazis earthquakes.
And interestingly enough,
...the EU is failing to meet the Kyoto Protocol’s carbon-dioxide emission standards. Rather than help protect the environment, the trading system has encouraged increases in electricity prices of more than 50 percent and record profits for RWE AG and other utilities.
Wow. It’s a socialist’s dream; throw a monkey-wrench into the economy, bring every aspect of the economy under government control in one fell swoop, re-distribute wealth among the citizenry and generally be an intrusive PITA to each and every one.
