Quite a few Cahleefohrneeiaks in that mob…
Here is a list of their issues which pretty well match the issues cited in this article by Devvy Kidd and quoted below:
Edited for clarity and brevity
Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions, by claiming their activities violate civil rights. [see Boy Scouts]
Use schools as indoctrination for socialism and current communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers associations. Put the party line in textbooks. [done. also weaken children by convincing them that they are helpless in the face of any stress, frustration or challenge. see “tug of peace “]
Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all form of artistic expression. Control art critics and directors of art museums. “Our plan is to promote ugly, repulsive, meaningless art.” “eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings,” substituting shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms. [that’s what *I* see]
Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of “the big picture.” Give more emphasis to Russian history since the communists took over. Obliterating the American past, with its antecedents in principles of freedom, liberty and private ownership is a major goal of the communists then and now. [see Philadelphia’s requirement for black-history-only classes]
Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture – education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.Discredit the family as an institution. [replace it with the socialist ‘village’]
Thoughts?
Develop the illusion that total disarmament by the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength. Now U.S. policy.
Permit free trade between all nations regardless of communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war. Now U.S. policy.
Provide American aid to all nations regardless of communist domination. Now U.S. policy.
Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the United Nations: Done. China is one of five veto-wielding permanent members of the U.N. Security Council.
Promote the United Nations as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the United Nations as by Moscow.) Done
Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party. Do away with all loyalty oaths. Done.
Capture one, or both, of the political parties in the United States. Done.
Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions. Done.
Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders that no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat]. Done.
Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis. Done. [see Ruth Bader-Ginsberg on this]
People who sound the alarm are often called “alarmists.”

G’head, Moonbats; pick an issue and convince me. Make my day.

Posted by Rodger Schlong on 06/13/05 at 07:51 AMBeen reading much Gramsci? You’ve got it nailed, Clair. By transforming our culture, they can take our country, accomplishing what no armed force on this planet can do, without a shot being fired.
