Yes.

may I reiterate:  Yes.

RAF fighter pilots were asked to consider flying suicide mission as a last resort to stop terrorists, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed.

Air Vice-Marshal David Walker put forward the last-ditch scenario at a conference for air crews.

According to The Sun, he said: “Would you think it unreasonable if I ordered you to fly your aircraft into the ground in order to destroy a vehicle carrying a Taliban or al Qaeda commander?"

P’rhaps you ought to give them missiles?  or bricks or something?

Timing, Vice-Marshal; timing.

  1. “... for example terrorists trying to fly an aircraft into a British city being followed by an RAF fighter which suffers weapons failure.”

One would hope that RAF fighters do not suffer weapons failure.

Given the current state of law enforcement in England today, the lost likely scenario would be that a large blue light atop the RAF plane would start blinking and the bad guys would pull over to the kerb.  (That’s the thing on the side of the road, in England.)
