  1. The unfortunate death of any law enforcement officer is always a sad and tragic event.
Nothing can bring Border Patrol Agent Robert Rosas back to his wife, his two infant children, and his saddened fellow members of the U.S. Border Patrol.

This irreversible tragedy could have been prevented if the new style of border fencing had been erected in the area of Campo, Ca. where the illegal alien assailants trespassed over the U.S. border.

Every two months I survey the progress of the 16-foot high, steel and concrete reinforced fence being constructed along the California-Mexico border.  There are no illegal aliens trespassing into the U.S., either on foot or by vehicle, where this new style of fencing has been erected.

Without a doubt, the new fence is a very effective deterrent to the illegal alien and illegal drug traders who have used our unprotected border as an easy pathway into the United States...the same easy pathway that allowed some of them to kill Agent Rosas.

We need the new fencing along most of our southern border, not just in random parts of it.  That, accompanied by a doubling of our U.S. Border Patrol agents and some high tech observation and detection equipment would forever solve the criminal problems we invite into our homeland by having porous borders.

The Obama administration should pick up the pace of fence construction along the entire southern border.  The sooner a seamless fence is in place, the sooner we can protect our Border Patrol agents and our citizens from further senseless carnage.

  2. While I thoroughly agree with your point, Mr Gilchrist, what does that have to do with this post?

Random comments promoting your point left on non-related blog posts is a technique invented by—and best left to—those on the other side of this argument.  It only annoys those who already agree with your point.  [see:  Astroturfing / Axelrod]
