Medical Nanny State? or Free to Choose?

  1. No other comments?

The question is, should the State step in and take your kid in these cases?

Tricky area.  Suppose a Christian Scientist’s kid has TB - or some other serious, but treatable disease.  Should the rest of us look away and let the kid die?

In the Cherrix case, it’s a tossup.  Either treatment (chemo or Laetrile) will probably kill him (or fail to stop the cancer that will kill him).

So in that case, I’d say, let the family deal with it.
