What I Did on A Summer Day
Got back later than I thought we would and then had to take the pup for a walk and a boat ride to make up for time spent alone... Isn't is amazing how a pair of chocolate-brown eyes can invoke so much? The fair was -- well, exactly the same as it has been for the last 15 years. That's part of the attraction; the consistency. But there are even less attractions than last year. The usual awful food included a Deep Fried Twinkie booth this year. Yeech. Available plain, with "chocolate" syrup, and with what looked to me like catsup but I was informed was "raspberry syrup." Hmm. Smoked turkey legs, Giant dill pickles [good!], and frozen bananas dipped in chocolate [yummmm]. Funnel cakes [smell like old pits], spaghetti, Chinese, Mexican, and the usual burgers. And *awful* garlic. [yeech! phew!] The photography exhibit was good ["entered in the county fair!"] and the painting is interesting. No outstanding crafts... House of Flowers; zzzzzz. Not selling one dam thing of any interest -- not even those Egyptian perfume bottles. So below is the most interesting thing we saw, except for "Dave's Reptiles" and they were too dark to photo.
