Week-end Follies
my story: *ahem*which is mine*ahem* in which I demonstrate yet again why I need a keeper
So this weekend I went to a wedding. The groom [91 Years old] and his bride [a lady of ‘a certain age’...] had more fun than anyone I’ve seen; dancing and flitting about talking to everyone in the huge crowd that showed up.
Toward the end, I was standing talking with The Mister and The Groom’s Granddaughter near the door—not really in the way, but close to—and this little gelding fella walked up, looking somewhat frightened; usual gelding demeanor. Clearly he wanted to get by.
Suddenly he flashes the “Peace Fingers” and cries [in the gelding whisper-cry] “peace… peace… peace” directly at each of us. He received momentary stares of ‘huh?’ before it struck us he wanted us to move instead of him going ‘round. As we moved aside, unbidden, from the depths of my pre-conscious, came: “Yes, Peace - Through Superior Firepower.”
The rabbit ran.
