Watchers Council -- Herculean Challenge

The Watcher is a hard man -- to please. Since I have been ever so remiss in voting two [2!] weeks in a row, he has set me the task of getting 12 [twelve] non-council blogs to link to his post announcing the winners of this week's Watchers Council and to the winners posts. My only excuse, poor as it is, is the continued illness of my iMac [who is still in hospital awaiting body parts] and the difficulty of using an interim set-up that is ...er, inconvenient. [I'm really bad at typing while kneeling on the floor. . .] I'm begging counting on y'all to take pity and help me out. Please spread some linky-love in my name or they're gonna strip off my epaulettes and drum me outta the corps. The Watcher is clearly not one of those wimpy "Compassionate" Conservatives. . . [ please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please? With Sugar On Top?] The posts are all worthy reads, so I will include for your pleasure, edification, and by way of reward for your linkage, a link to the list of all entries this week, too. Watchers Council Entries of the Week To Help Me Out all you need to do is link to this post: The Watchers Council Has Spoken! and the two worthy winners below. And This Week's Watchers Council Choices are: *drumroll* Approaching Iran by Spiced Sass , and The New Uncle Wiggle Wings by Dean's World *applause* [This post will stay at the top of the page [with newer entries falling below, so check and see] until I have bested the challenge or until my time is up and the swearing at out ceremony begins. Take pity on me, dear blogosphere, for my time is short and my tasks are many.] UPDATE: Now don't go and tell him I said this, but The Watcher is really being very sweet about helping me with the task he has set for me. It daunts me, nonetheless, but his kindness is heartening. I would also like to thank profusely Dean Esmay for his link in my honour. Oh, and be sure to check out Dean's ongoing efforts for Toys for Iraq. Good show, all . The BoiFromTroy has also earned my deep gratitude for his help. UPDATE: Jonathan Elliott has been kind enough to lend a link to the cause; with the added benefit of letting us know about his blog. Good writing, sensible ideas, with a nice, twisted sense of humor, to boot. Go See Workaround Blog UPDATE: I've gotten a leg up from Deaddy Bear, a good ol' boy from The Country™ and an excellent photographer as well as a good blogger. I'm guessing he's rather fond of ol' Uncle Jerry, too.

  1. October 7, 2003?  There once was an e-claire, quite bright, whose dozing was faster than light.  She went down one day in a relative way and returned home eleven days in the future.

  2. Gotcha covered.  All I ask is that, as a new Bear Flag member, I be added to your Blogroll of Bear Flag links.  What a deal!

  3. Claire, I’m sorry to put this here, but it’s late and I couldn’t find your e-mail address--going blind, I think. Just thought I should let you know that the art on your main page appears to obscure whatever post is on top--that is, the most recent. I can only read half of each line.

Hope that’s just a display problem on my machine. Feel free to delete this comment after reading.

  4. Thank you for the feedback, Little Miss Attila.  My site is designed for larger displays but The Watcher of Weasels generously gave me a little bit of code designed to help with that.  Apparently, it doesn’t work with all browsers . . .

If you happen to drop by here again, could you tell me what you’re using?  Thanks.

  5. Well… that little bit of code is only going to help if it would work down there in the sidebar.  I’m still seeing the sidebar way down below everything else because the image in it is too wide for me… the image you added in up top does resize for me, but having it there just pushes your entries down and then the sidebar even further down below.  :-(

  6. “Can ya see me now???

  7. Even without the image down there, the sidebar still doesn’t quite fit for some reason. I think the word “CONVERSATION...” is just a little too wide.  You might want to try taking the “...” off of it, or maybe try shaving off a couple letters by changing it to read “DISCUSSION...” instead.

  8. Okay e-claire, check www.workaround.blogspot.com out and see if it satisfies your herculean needs. If not, send an email to joncelli@hotmail.com and I’ll change it to your specs.

  10. PJ said you needed help, so I gave it a try.  I hope I linked it correctly.  I’ve asked my readers to help you out, too.  Good luck!

  11. Ok, we all need a little help now and then.  Here ya go.  Hope you knock that silly person back off his Watch Tower.  All you needed was a dozen, right?  I think you’re covered.
