heh. Too late -- I got mine today. The Mister's take: "When Kerry says, 'Bring it on,' all I see is a lousy poker player." UPDATE in progress: O.M.G. [also via Drudge:
In a statement, the Kerry campaign said it had "filed a legal complaint against Swift Boat Veterans for Truth (SBVT) before the Federal Election Commission (FEC) for violating the law with inaccurate ads that are illegally coordinated with the Bush-Cheney presidential campaign." The complaint asks that the Republican National Committee, Bush's reelection campaign, and the veterans group "be enjoined from further violations, be required to repay their illegal contributions and be fined the maximum amount permitted by law."
The Bush response?
"I do think that Senator Kerry losing his cool should not be an excuse for him to lash out at the president with false and baseless attacks," McClellan said.
Is this a foot-shot? If he pushes it, he'll have to prove that the ads are actually "inaccurate." Or is he betting on finding a judge who will issue a temporary restraining order to stop the ads until the case is settled? At which point he'll wander off, drop the case "until aafter the election" and never be called to prove the truth of his claims? Would that even be legal? See what you get when you run a coupla lawyers for anything 'cept out of town on a rail?!?
