For those reluctant to invest time in videos, this is Sarkozy doing a remarkably French and deliciously smooth take-down of Christiane Amanpour on their own terms.
I, being of an apparently wildly different world-view—that of not ‘saving’ people from experiencing the natural and logical consequences of their choices—find Sarkozy’s justification of “only the police got injured” to be ludicrous; but to savor the utter deliciousness of his response I must remind myself that ‘saving’ people is part of the culture of Victimology which Amanpour and Sarkozy share. Righteous woodshed visit.
I like that she had to clarify that she was referring to “President” Sarkozy. I mean with 2 presidents in the room you would never know.
