This meme of whinging about gas prices is starting to get to me. It’s all over everywhere.
If I drive 20 miles to work every day and get [rounded off national average] 20 mpg, $4 gas, that’s $8. Or two Starbucks lattes. Or an average sandwich ‘n’ coffee at an urban eatery. Or $40/week.

Are ya telling me that the average American can’t find $40/week of crappola to cut out of their budget?
Yes, granted: energy is a national security item. Granted: we are being dumbasses not to drill here and cover our own needs. And maybe this whinging is what’s necessary to provide Congress with a set sufficient to do something useful—what’s needed to distract ‘em from baseball and BDS hearings.
