TODAY's Raaaaacist Post

right from the raacist’s ..erm, email

Voz de Aztlan email:

. . . 2217 .... This is the number [of residents of San Bernardino CA] that signed a racist initiative

that word, again…

that will essentially and indirectly evict, from the city, undocumented immigrants,

that word, too…

mostly from Mexico.

ahh?  But not all from Mexico.  So it applies equally to illegal aliens from Jordan and Canada?  And that’s raaacist, how?

The initiative, if it becomes law, either through City Council approval or a city wide vote, would, among other things, criminalize and fine any landlord that rents to an undocumented immigrant.

The mean spirited

oh. puh. leeze.  And it’s hard-hearted of me to resist a carjacking cuz that poooor fella needs my car and pocketbook more than I do.  Like it matches his shoes…

anti-immigrant

*gah*

initiative has been filed with the City Clerk and now the City Council must approved it or put it to a city wide referendum.

Yeah.  Let’s see what the citizens [yanno—legal residents participating in self-governance] have to say on the matter.

The seven member City Council will consider the initiative on Monday May 15, 2006 at 3;00 PM in a meeting that will be attended by a large number of pro-immigrant right

Illegal aliens don’t have these rights.  They have the right to be held accountable to the law.  They have the right to be treated humanely—but like law-breakers.

groups. In a National Alliance for Human Rights (NAHR) meeting last night in Riverside, the group vowed to defeat the initiative. Professor Armando Navarro, National Coordinator of NAHR, personally pledged a massive effort to defeat the measure. Dr. Navarro said, “San Bernardino will see a mobilization like never in its history.” He added, “This is going to be our Montgomery for the new civil-rights movement ."

They got this “civil rights” idea from Teddy the Swimmer, didn’t they?

[The initiative also targets] day laborers or “jornaleros” that seek work at hardware stores like Home Depots. The initiative will empower the city police to confiscate the vehicles of anyone picking up for work a day laborer.

alrighty thenn… The state stealing one’s car/truck.  NOT.  Howzaboudda fine or citation or ticket or arrest or sumpthin’.  Leave folks’ property alone.

The measure will in addition punish any business that aids undocumented immigrants and attempts to establish an “English Only” law in the city.

Now there’s an idea.  Though Home Depot would hafta re-paint alla their signs; aisle signs, department signs, product signs, price signs, restroom signs…

Though the measure will probably be declared unconstitutional if passed

It’s UNCONSTITUTIONAL to follow the law....  Hokayfiiine....

, a dim possibility where over 50% of the 200,000 population is Latino,

Y’all do know that legal residents of Mexican heritage are the least likely to be on your side, doncha?

it must never-the-less be totally smashed at the bud

Nice metaphor.

to send out a clear message to all xenophobes, nativists, bigots and racists.

There it is—that thing Gov. Love [CO] talked about years ago:  the magic words that shut down all discussion.

Monday, May 15, 2006 will be a day like no other in the history of the city. It will be the first skirmish in “The Battle of San Bernardino”.

Anyone live in the neighborhood and want to do a little reportage?  Pics would be a treat for all…
