kinda does make Jihad Johnny, wavin his AK and screamin’ like a scalded baboon, seem like a “disaffected ute"

Again, as a Californian, I apologize for this mephitic troll.

Sen. Barbara Boxer is urging the U.S. to ratify a United Nations measure meant to expand the rights of children, a move critics are calling a gross assault on parental rights that could rob the U.S. of sovereignty.

...Critics say the treaty, which creates “the right of the child to freedom of thought, conscience and religion” and outlaws the “arbitrary or unlawful interference with his or her privacy,” intrudes on the family and strips parents of the power to raise their children without government interference.

Nearly every country in the world is party to it—only the U.S. and Somalia are not ...

The convention has established a Committee on the Rights of the Child, an 18-member panel in Geneva composed of “persons of high moral character” who review the rights of children in nations that are party to the convention.

Cuz it’s worked out so well for the slumdog children of Mumbai, and the enslaved children in Saud, and..., and… and....

During the campaign last year, President Barack Obama described the United States’ failure to ratify the Convention as ‘embarrassing’ and has promised to review this.

Fighting for Not throwing away your country’s sovereignty and Individual Freedom is “embarrassing” to ∏eh W∅n.  Still ready to “give him a chance?”

  1. No troll you, but the mephitis emanating from our wise and wonderful Senator is repellent indeed.

We do not need to have our lives - and our chidren - regulated by entities outside our country.

People need to know that when the UN talks about rights, they really mean transferring those rights from wherever they are now, and giving them to their own exalted persons.

    Then there’s another small point:

Rights are not given by any government, they are only restricted or taken away.  To quote, “... that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with inherent and inalienable rights;...”

More than that, the UN is perhaps the most dysfunctional body operating in the world today.

They even admit that they have no power (or perhaps no inclination) to do anything about child abuse in the world.

The problem is, our bend-over-backwards legislators would write US laws in keeping with the UN standards, and we’d be bound by those.

    Like, f’r’example:

“States Parties shall respect the right of the child to freedom of thought, conscience and religion.”

You want to raise your kid Lutheran?  Sorry.  We’ll just let little Timmy decide on his own.

“States Parties recognize the rights of the child to freedom of association and to freedom of peaceful assembly.”

You don’t like your kid hanging out with the Skull-n-Bones gang? Sorry. You mustn’t interfere with his right to associate,

Your teenage son would like to move the neighbor’s lawns for a small fee?  Sorry.  Children may not work for hire.

    Et Cetera.

Now since this treaty has been sogned by every nation except the US and Somalia, let’s just take a little look round and see how the children are doing in

    Dafur, India, Gambia, Morocco, .........

  2. Maybe I need to tell Boxer that I am one of the 3%’ers and see what she says. Hell, that skank is so dumb she won’t even know what I speaking of.
