There's blatant... Then there's overt... Then there's doin' it in the street and scaring the horse

There’s blatant… Then there’s overt… Then there’s doin’ it in the street and scaring the horses…
my horse is whimpering...

And then there’s just plain lazy-arsed, incompetent, horse hockey.  Soledad O’Brien is now pushing that envelope.

...CNN’s Soledad O’Brien sandbag[ed] former White House Communications Director Nicole Wallace by asking her how Sarah Palin can claim to be a defender of special needs children when she cut the budget for that Alaska office by 62 percent. Wallace wasn’t familiar with the charge—which isn’t surprising, since it’s only being made on DailyKos and Washington Monthly. [and WaMo *corrected itself* - e~C]

oooo - little problem, there.

Gov. Sarah Palin and state lawmakers have gone ahead with an overhaul of Alaska’s school funding system… A second part of the measure raises spending for students with special needs to $73,840 in fiscal 2011, from the current $26,900 per student in fiscal 2008, according to the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development

Yeah—trying to hang the budget prepared by her predecessor on her.  Kinda like happened with Reagan and the closing of the CA mental facilities left over from the budget made by his predecessor, Pat Brown.

But wait—you’ll be relieved to hear this:

CNN anchor Soledad O’Brien disavowed any knowledge of a bias on her network against Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, particularly concerning the issue of her five children,

Glad to hear that - especially since, I believe, Soledad has four children under 10 and works at CNN full time.

Folks are actually noticing.  Real folks.  I was chatting with someone today—the kind of guy who usually works 12-14 hr days and whom I did not expect to be up on this political stuff—but he was hopping mad about the whole Todd getting a DUI 22 years ago story.

Heck - I drove by a dead skunk on the side of the road last night.  His little leg was kicking and I could hear him hollerin’, “WTF is it with the MSM and that Palin gal?!?  Leave me alone with that stinky shiite!”

  1. The attack troops are out in full force.  Some people in blog-land are starting to say “she wants Creationism [cue scary music] taught in school”.  I don’t know if she does or doesn’t, but as VP, she’s not going to have a whole lot of input in that area (as opposed to all the other areas she will).

But if that’s the worst they can come up with, we’re in good shape.

I didn’t hear her speech (I don’t get out much), but I’ll read it when it comes to web-land.  I did hear that she got some first-class digs at Obama.

So far, I can’t wait till McCain and Obama debate - without teleprompters.  Now I can’t wait till Palin and Biden duke it out on the sound stage.
