The Smell of Blood is In The Air

A new documentary claiming to show Republican bias at FOX NEWS will debut in New York City on Monday . But FOX NEWS executives are preparing to hit back hard -- if rivals self-servingly hype the film! [Drudge reports that FOX has] information on how editorial decisions are made at these networks [MSNBC & CNN], including the agenda for how stories are supposed to be covered. A senior FOX NEWS executive tells DRUDGE: "We have enough ammunition to nail both MSNBC & CNN." Sources say FOX is prepared to go public with these accounts if necessary.

Uhm... Someone remind FOX that their first responsibility is to report the freakin' news, hmm?!? If they have hard evidence that the other news outlets are biasing their reports -- that *is* news. Report it and play your tit for tat, ass covering games on your own time. Or are you, FOX, part of the whole "Media Conspiracy?" Just so we know that there is no agenda behind this upcoming "documentary" on FOX:

Press Conference with FOX Whistle Blowers...Robert Greenwald's new documentary "Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism," excerpts of which will be shown at the news conference ...is a devastating indictment of the Fox News Channel's purposeful disinformation in the pursuit of partisan objectives. Also at the news conference, Common Cause and MoveOn will outline their forthcoming campaign OUTFOX, starting with thousands of house parties to show the film taking place on Sunday, July 18th. On Tuesday, media are invited to the official film premiere and to a panel on media consolidation and reform hosted by The Center for American Progress, with media authors and critics such as Arianna Huffington and Eric Alterman.

First off; oooooooooo, you're soooo clever. "Out" FOX. oooooo [isn't "out" a variant of the term, "fink out" or "rat out" we usta use as kids? having a vituperative or retaliatory intent as opposed to straightforward "reporting valuable facts we've discovered."] Ok, now that's outta my system -- These folks are creepin' me "out." I guess they're putting George Soros' money, some of which came from the Carlyle Group I understand, to good use. Here's a phrase: "a panel on media consolidation and reform." How and what are they planning to consolidate? ABCNNBCBSOROS? And, last I remember, news outlets are still privately owned, right? So how's this outfit gonna "consolidate and reform" someone else's property? hmmm? But the organization! And the "house party" thing -- brilliant. People are so much more likely to believe something -- anything -- that they are told by someone they know, even know casually. It is easy to say, "oh, CNN is a big company -- they might have gotten something wrong," or "it was in the paper and you know how that is." But if my sister's boss' cousin and her husband invite me to their house to see a "documentary," I'm likely to go -- especially if they put the obligation on me to bring Steve H's my World Famous Brownies. Most people won't call even a casual friend an outright bullshit artist or a liar. Especially to his face, or to his wife's boss' face. So doubts get muffled in politeness and group-think, and the Big Lie is on a roll. No wonder Terry Mcauliffe was so perkily and nauseatingly optimistic on the Daily Show. Too bad War Profiteer Michael Moore didn't think of it. Then again there isn't near as much money to be made in "house parties" -- ask Amway... Here are some of the rest of this crew:

Eric Alterman (The Center for American Progress) (What Liberal Media?), Arianna Huffington (Fanatics and Fools), John Nichols (Our Media, Not Theirs), Nicholas Lemann (dean of the Columbia University School of Journalism) and Paul Starr (co-editor of The American Prospect and author of The Creation of the Media) Robert Greenwald (filmmaker); Chellie Pingree(Common Cause, spokesperson for coalition)

Can anyone out there get an invite to one of these "house parties?" Sure would be an interesting evening . . .
