Jihad may be fueling attacks
By Mona Mahmoud, USA TODAY
BAGHDAD — Insurgents killed at least 28 Iraqis Tuesday in two new suicide attacks that suggest the rebellion is fueled by growing ranks of religious fanatics and foreign fighters.

Yes, yes, we say—haven’t we been telling you that all along?  Jihad / Wahabism [delenda est] / Dhimmitude for thee but not for me, and all that?!?  But wait!  There’s moooore.....

"The mix is changing,” Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del., said recently, citing conversations earlier this month in Iraq with Marine and Army commanders. “Now, the mix is increasingly more Islamists crossing the border ... and a lot of them are Saudis,” Biden said.

Ya mean… ya mean like those fellers that did that plane - buildings - *BOOM* thing?  Like that???

Chas Freeman, a former U.S. ambassador to Saudi Arabia who travels frequently to the kingdom for business, says the Saudi government is increasingly concerned about the numbers of young people going to fight in Iraq.

Why?  Are the numbers decreasing?  Oopsie—not supposta notice that the Sauds are Wahabists, are paying for most of the maddrasses and the training camps, and the Mosques o’ Hate here in the US.

Insurgents hope the violence will show “that the new government is extremely fragile and the Iraqi people aren’t necessarily that better off,” says Charles Pena of the Cato Institute

Gee… and here I thought that the “insurgents terrorists hope their violence will show, “We will fuck you in the ass make your lives miserable with extreme prejudice until you give in to our will.  ok - Mohammed’s will, whatever...” Silly me… [sorry… I was channeling Swerengen there for a minute..]

An insurgent group with ties to al-Qaeda in Iraq, Ansar al-Sunnah, claimed responsibility for both of Tuesday’s suicide bombings in Internet postings. The claims could not be independently verified.

And there are, were, and never will be any ties between alQ and Iraq *cough*Zarkawi*cough*

Conspiracy Theorist Claire ...says that this is the first drop in a sea change.  It is the run-it-up-the- flagpole-and-see- if-it-sticks volley in a change of tactic by MSM.  They have never before admitted that there were out of country “insurgents” surging in.  Or that Jihad - holy war against the civilizing forces of self-government—might be playing a part.  At most, it was Saddam’s old guard; at worst it was “Iraqis resisting US imperialist occupation fighting bravely on.”

.

It’s either that or:  “In other news today, the presence of feathers, webbed feet and quacking suggest that this animal is a duck, Diick*.”

.

.

* [to get the full effect of this spelling of the Grinch-hearted Mister Durbin’s name, one must call to mind the Cybill Shepard show, the best friend character, MaryAnn, and the way she spoke the name of her ex-hubby, “Doctor Diick—complete with lip curl.  If this rings no bells—never mind.]

.

UPDATE:  Why, yes.  I do b’lieve that would be the very same Biden who just declaired he is running for President and has therefore begun his 2008 mudflinging just a tad early…

  2. some days, when thinking deep thoughts, i ponder the pressing questions of our times, such as:

deep: which country would i prefer that Saudi terrorists commit suicide?  Iraq or the USofA?

deeper: who would be more fun on a desert isle?  Ginger or MaryAnn?

deepest: who would i rather take out to the Elk’s Lodge for a drink?  MaryAnn or Cybill?
