not the mission in their pants

Oh, sorry—that’s so passé.

The House voted Thursday to make it a federal crime to assault people because of their sexual orientation ...expected passage by the Senate...

Thought Crimes Task Force - tonight on NBC!

The measure is attached to a must-pass $680 billion defense policy bill

Wouldn’t it be embare-assing if your “pet” bill couldn’t pass on its own merit [or lack thereof] and you hadda attach it to some other thing that just has to pass?  ...that is, if one had any shame left.

The proposed expansion would include crimes based on gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability. It eases restrictions on federally protected activities.

So that means if some guy wearing heels and a spangle bra grabs my purse it’s a federal crime?  Right?

The FBI says there are some 8,000 hate crimes reported around the country in a year. More than half of those are motivated by racial bias. Next most frequent are crimes based on religious bias at around 18 percent and sexual orientation at 16 percent.

  1. I must be naieve.  I always thought it was against the law to assault someone, for any reason.

“... attached to a must-pass $680 billion defense policy bill.”

    Now that makes perfect sense....

And they tell us that they’re thinking of putting the whole health-scare bill as an amendment to another unrelated bill.

In other news, [found on Drudge]:

Police stop more than 1 million people on street

And now for something completely different:  Did you hear the joke about Obama getting the Nobel Peace Prize?

It’s true (see Drudge), and it’s still a joke.
