First, we don’t know if Palin is a Literal Fundamentalist. I would be verry surprised if she is.
Second, I’m pretty sure that the VP doesn’t get “the nuclear codes”. VPs aren’t always in the loop. FDR kept Truman so much in the dark the Truman had no idea about the Bomb until after FDR died.
And even though GWB “has the nuclear codes”, that doesn’t mean that he gets to push a button and volleys of ICBMs go roaring off toward ... well, wherever they’re going these days.
As to “the media swirl”, I suppose he doesn’t remember the media’s complete enchantment of Obama over the last several months, and their complete ignoring of McCain.
