Spammentors [die, bastards, die!!]
Simon L Garfinkel, of MIT, not the other one, led me to James Seng's MTPlugin Capcha Turing Test which puts an image-based [ie not text/not bot readable] security code number in a little box in your comments page. I'm downloading it now -- after downloading the new Stuffit version which insisted that I download it first *sigh* Aahh, crap! It's one of those gotta-be-smarter-than-*that*-kid things. "#1 Check if you have GD.pm installed (use the command perldoc GD)" Foiled at #1 ! Dang! Well, if you're well versed in electron herding, give it a try and let me know how it works. I'll be over here in the corner hunting for my GD.pm. The blog blogspam has a page of options, including Jay Allen's MTBlacklist -- also an exercise for the more erudite among us.If you cant get GD.pm, try mt-bayesian instead. Posted by James Seng on 12/31/03 at 01:04 PMThank you, James. You have so many good ideas. Unfortunately, I think you missed the part where I don’t even know what a GD.pm *is*.
The training technique looks good, too. I think I will see if I can find someone to help me who actually knows what an algorothm is, much less one of the Bayesian sort.
Keep up the good work, James. If I work very hard, maybe I will learn enough to use your ideas! [Please - don’t get me wrong. I do know a few things—this just ain’t one of ‘em.]
