I admit, I’ve been kinda outta the loop this week.  Took last weekend off [hossie buzzinezz] and found it really really hard to jump back in.  No wonder many folks just don’t bother.  It felt like making myself jump into a nice, warm steaming jacuzzi of cow flop.

Like this:  Remember Shirley Sherrod and the Ag Department Raaaacist Kerfluffle?  Remember that lawsuit she was involved in: Pigford vs Vilsack.  The one where the gubbmint was gonna pay black farmers for “discrimination”—and counted more black “farmers” than there are?

The U.S. Senate yesterday approved spending ...negotiated by the Obama administration, of $1.15 billion to the black farmers ...

But, it seems all I hear is “TSA! TSA! junk TSA! crying babies TSA! teddy bears TSA! nuns TSA!TSA! hijab TSAaaaaaaaaaiiiiiieeeeee”

erm… Where’s the news on the Farm Bill?  Yanno, the one that seems likely to raise the price of our food by 25% [again] in the name of “your safety.” Where’s in-depth coverage of the economic talks, the Lisbon thingie, the NATO discussions, the Russia Treaty; all of which are likely to effect our lives in deep and meaningful ways?  Somethin’ don’t smell right.

Yanno what our local nooz “covered” t’other day [I was cooking; I had no choice but to overhear]? Car chases [they’re gonna “change foreverOMGOMGOMG"] and plastic surgery [the “turkey neck” procedure, for that oh-so-clever Holiday Tie-In.]

WTF?!?

All I’m sayin, is that for a kerfluffle to be This Big, at this season [biggest travel day of the year] and this filled with the prime right-wingnut crowd-arousers of Sex and Outrage, it’s gotta be flack, distracting US from something sneakin’ up behind US.

1. Farm Bill? NATO? Russia?  Iranian nukes? Where’s the clever footage on those?  {rapping knife and fork on table}We want cool video!!! TSA gives us cool video!!!{/rapping} The Peeple don’t seem to care about abstract stuff like Keynesian or (whatever that other one is - the one that works) economcs.

   
   Seems like there’s always been one diversion or another (at least, ever since His Magnificence took over).

   PS: An interviewer at the “Rally for Sanity” asked people if they thought Obama is a Keynesian:

   Is the President a Kenyesian?

   Many answered “No!!! He’s an American!!!”
