Separate Issues
In her usual clear-thinking way, Justene at CalBlog has more clearly defined the crux of the issue on the abortion question. There are two [2] issues at hand: the moral/philosophical position, and that tool called the Law.Politically, though, I believe the laws don't set behavior, they normalize public consensus of behavior.
It's a distinction to keep in mind when the topic gets hot and reason flies out the window.
