Yesterday: Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger urged federal officials to beef up enforcement and secure the state’s borders against illegal immigrants, saying Tuesday they must clean up a “lax situation” instead of “trying to run the other way.”
“Close the borders. Close the borders in California, and all across Mexico and the United States,” ..."Because I think it is just unfair to have all of those people coming across, and to have the borders open the way it is,” the California governor said. “We in California have to still finish the border. That is the key thing — to have borders and to keep the law, enforce the law."
Go Governator! Fall out? Sure:
Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez issued a statement saying Schwarzenegger should “ratchet down this rhetoric and retreat from this narrow-minded approach to immigration.” [blablabla] “political extremists, not rational policy-makers,’"
Extremist, irrational, narrow-minded suggestions that the first thing people ought not to do upon “immigrating” to a new country is express utter contempt for the laws of that country. Ahnold, you Nazi!!
Yeah, yeah, yeah—big deal. Some Assemblyman I never heard of takes this opportunity to make DhimmoCrap points. But since this is one of the issues Ahnold was really, really clear on, being a legal immigrant himself; since he claims to be a ‘law and order’ guy; since he claime to love his country and his state; since he claims to be a sane human being—surely he would stick by his statement: “the key thing — to have borders and to keep the law, enforce the law.”

Today: Schwarzenegger says he misspoke yesterday before a group of newspaper publishers in San Francisco.
The governor says his comment to close the borders was a “total screw up.”
He says he meant to say the United States should secure its borders.
The Austrian native says he might need to go back to school to bone up on his English.
Can’t ‘bone up’ unless you got a set, Arnie-boy.
