Restoring the Respect of Our International Allies

...or

Seems not all the EUs are fooled by The One.  [go for the snark - stay for the vase analogy]

‘When a man believes that any stick will do, he at once picks up a boomerang,’ said GK Chesterton, and when the politically committed go on a berserker you should listen for the sound of their own principles smacking them in the face. ...

In an age when politics is choreographed, voters watch out for the moments when the public-relations facade breaks down and venom pours through the cracks. Their judgment is rarely favourable when it does. Barack Obama knows it. All last week, he was warning American liberals to stay away from the Palin family. He understands better than his supporters that it is not a politician’s enemies who lose elections, but his friends.

Yanno, like this:  Howard Gutman on Laura Ingraham saying the little lady oughta stay home and take care of the kids.

“If my daughter had just come home at 17 years old and said, ‘Mom, Dad, I’m pregnant, we have a family problem,’ I wouldn’t say, ‘You know what we’re going to do? We’re going to take this private family problem … I’m going to go on the international stage and broadcast it to the world’,” he said.

Gutman later added: “If you take a daughter who’s got this emotional strife and subject her to the most intense scrutiny of the world at this time in her life, I think you’ve put your career above your family.

...this wasn’t a working mother issue, this was a parent issue…The proper attack is not that a woman shouldn’t run for vice president with five kids, it’s that a parent, when they have a family in need, a Down’s baby who needs them—mother or father.”
[emph mine—e~C]

Now, I’m suuure that The Big O wouldn’t approve of that kind of statement—particularly since he was born to a mother who was that age… Right?

This is what he said about the initial Fling Poo At Palin spasm:

"There is no evidence at all that any of this involved us,” [ooooo - weak argument of the guilty there...] he said. “We don’t go after people’s families. We don’t get them involved in the politics. It’s not appropriate, and it’s not relevant. Our people were not involved in any way in this and they will not be. And if I ever thought that it was somebody in my campaign that was involved in something like that, they’d be fired."

So Gutman’s fired, right?

...I don’t no hear bus wheels a’comin’

Not to put too fine a point on it, if Obama cannot govern his supporters, how can he govern a nation?

  2. I think we have a good idea of what kind of government we’re likely to get if they take over.
