Remember the VRWC ‘Smear Machine’?
amateurs.
Aimed at the Supermarket/WalMart voters:

So what did Green think when she heard Palin was John McCain’s vice presidential candidate? “ It’s been very difficult to work with her,” she tells Us Weekly. “I wish there had been more vetting."
The Republicans hate her. If you go and talk to the Alaska delegation here, they despise her.
Q: Really?
A: Hate her. Oh my god! This whole thing about her retarded son really being her daughter’s was started by Lyda Green, who is president of the senate, a Republican. [...]
Sounds like that shock jock was right…
Picture this; Palin is giving a “commencement address she gave in June to a class of commission students at the Wasilla Assembly of God.” This is considered important enough for the HuffPo to have found and posted a video of it to “provides as much insight into her policy leanings as anything uncovered since she was asked to be John McCain’s running mate.”
Speaking before the Pentecostal church, Palin painted the current war in Iraq as a messianic affair in which the United States could act out the will of the Lord.
This is what they quote Palin as having said to demonstrate the “messianic affair.”
"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God,” she exhorted the congregants. “That’s what we have to make sure that we’re praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God’s plan.”
She also said, “"I think God’s will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that,”
For folks who are so committed to “understaaanding different cultures,” they have very little understaaanding of what Christians say and mean. “Doing God’s will” and “praying that our plan is God’s plan” is how Christians say “doing what is Right.” They pay a lot of attention to that—checking and re-checking and, yes, praying that they are doing what is Right. It’s part of their cuuulture.
Let’s sit back and watch while Sarah Palin does not throw her pastor or her church under the bus.
Just incidentally, here is a reminder of what Uh-bama wrote to put in The Wall—and then later cleared for publication.
"Lord,
Protect my family and me. Forgive me my sins and help me guard against pride and despair.
Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just.
With all the sexist talk about how Palin is “abandoning her family” by taking on this campaign, where are the NOW harpies women shouting in the streets about Sara’s right to work and ability to “do it all/have it all?” Lest we forget, the other Veep candidate took his Senate oath by his son’s hospital bedside two weeks after he had become the single parent of his children. That was lauded by the Dems as “heroic dedication to service.” But, somehow, it’s different for a woman, eh? Even a woman who has a fully-present husband.
Keep an eye on this avalanche of anti-Palin BS. [post the good bits in comments for me, eh—I gotta go out of town today] It’s snowballing hard and fast. If she can withstand this onslaught, Almondinnerjihaddi and his pals will be fresh meat for her.

A governor who downsized the Gubernatorial mansion by deciding to do her own cooking rather than continue with the State-financed chef should hire a full-time nanny?

“Even a woman who has a fully-present husband.” And other daughters old enough to act as baby-sitters. And parents of her own who could step in. And in-laws. And…
Reminds of my last stay in hospital. They wanted to keep me for two more days, and said it was so I would not have to administer injections myself - no other reason. I pointed out that my mother and grandmother had been nurses, one sister owns a nursing home her daughter runs, another niece is a nurse, another sister is an insulin-dependent diabetic, and I thought their argument was out-of-bounds silly anyway since the injections were to be via intra-muscular injection (Can you find your torso? That is what was needed as a site for the injections.) not into a vein.
Even before I finished, the doc was nodding in agreement. Would that some of these “women cannot do more than one thing on a given day” types could reason.Posted by on 09/03/08 at 01:41 PM
