Real Journalism -- Are ya listening Mr Carroll?
Real journalism presupposes that those listening are adults in search of information. They are not looking for comforting bedtime stories, sap to reaffirm their preconceptions or carefully worded innuendo to titillate their voyeurism. Most major media outlets will take the safe course today, the course that says America is civilized and therefore we do not show ourselves terrible things even if they are a part of what is really happening around us. We will however search out and show ourselves smarmy, sleezy lowest-common-denominator things which will make us feel dirty, discouraged and powerless. Therefore, I salute Mr Hannity for choosing to treat his audience as though they were adults and offering the opportunity to make one's own choice. Link to Hannity.com where he offers the al Qaida video of the beheading of Nick Berg. [as of 6:45p PST 5.11] I doubt I need to say it but, EXTREMELY GRAPHIC -- DO NOT SHOW TO A 6 YEAR OLD. . The contrast needs to be seen to be understood.
There is no commander within al Qaeda that will bring these criminals to justice. We will need to do it.

Oh, btw, there *is* a headlined article on Berg on the ABCNews website. His remains are coming home, the headline states...and the picture next to the headline is that of a little girl (ca. 8yo?) whose parents have been killed in Najaf by Coalition activity against Sadr. We kill parents equals Berg’s death...thus Burg’s henious murder was totally justified, is the subtext of ABC’s article.
And who says the media ain’t biased, hmmmm?

You’ll see grinning yokels in Alabama, Mississippi, etc., circa 1950-60 stringing up black men after they were thoroughly brutalized. The TRUTH of the matter is you are no more “humane” than these A-rabs you now want nuked. I call these beheadings and trade center attacks KARMA.
