Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen, the government’s national incident commander, requested the June 16 [Day 56] meeting in Washington in a letter sent to [BP Plc Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg] at the company’s London headquarters.

“The BP Deepwater Horizon spill has had a profound impact on Americans living in the Gulf region and time is of the essence in resolving these issues,” Allen wrote in the letter.
...Svanberg and BP officials will meet with senior administration officials and Obama will participate in a portion of the session, Allen wrote.
“In Charge since Day One!"
"As the president has said, our administration is not going to rest or be satisfied until the leak is stopped at the source, the oil in the Gulf is contained and cleaned up, and the people of the Gulf are able to go back to their lives and their livelihoods,” Allen wrote.
During the meeting [June 16—Day 56], Allen said the administration also wants updates on “efforts to stop the leak at its source, reduce the spread of oil, protect the shoreline and mitigate damages, as well as support long term recovery efforts to ensure that all individuals and communities impacted by the spill are made whole.”

I read a new item recently in which somebody asked His Ineffableness why he hadn’t acted more quickly. He said, “Nobody asked me”.
I’m not sure whether he actually said “axed me”.
