Nigga-rant
"Hush Nigga—da Boondocks is on"

I’m tired of educated and financially well off black people assuming leadership roles in our assumed collective identity every time a black entertainer says or does something that they don’t like.
...It might be too real for some, which is what I truly think bothers those that want Brother McGruder to tone it down or homogenize it because the Kente Kloth Klan (the Black KKK) can’t stand media depictions of black people that are not as educated as they, and because they feel their image is the “positive” image of black people. For them to commandeer my entertainment and media representation is audacious.
[The audio version is more ...uhm, interesting even than the print article using terms like ‘uppity negroes’...]
Knowing McGruder’s hatred of Bush, I watched the first episode with some hesitation. It was so good, I haven’t missed one yet. Fantastic animation, some good laughs, and absolutely no target is spared. In the last episode he managed to make fun of entrenched multi-culturalism in universities, hollywood, and several other targets on both sides of the ideological aisle. At the same time, I thought it had a great message about the hope and joy that Christmas can bring. I’m still waiting for the inevitable episode where Bush is charged as a war-criminal, but it might be worth it considering how much I like the show so far.
