News from "on high..."
The Vatican has said that the abuse is "offensive to god." Am I to gather from that statement, combined with their silence several weeks ago, that setting Americans on fire, hanging them from bridges, dragging them thru the streets of Fallujah is not offensive to god? ...in their estimation. Perhaps even pleasing to god? ...in their estimation. Thank you for making your position clear. I will take it for what it is worth.Couple of things:
First, I doubt the Vatican said “offensive to god” - more like, “offensive to God”.
Second, Catholics make up 24% of the US population. And very few Catholics in Iraq.
Thus it would be normal - even expected - for the Vatican to comment on abuse from a Catholic country - making sure the world knows they don’t approve - and having no such problem from Iraq as Pope has no sway there.
PS - I could just as easily go over your blog and point to the same “silence” on certain issues and then claim this makes your “position clear”.
A little bias, eh?

2] So the Vatican does not feel moved to speak when people, some of whom are likely church members, are torn apart in the street by a mob of jackels? It does not disapprove of that?
I wonder how that might feel to a church member whose relative was killed thus…
3] I do not have a “bias.” I have an opinion. A definate opinion. A clear opinion. An opinion based on careful study and thought.
What I do not have is an obligation to report in an unbiased manner, this being an editorial blog. What I also do not have is milllions upon millions of people looking to me for “moral guidance.”
