The Public Good Mediocre Stupid

Cahleefohrneeiah now prohibits texting while driving.  Uhm, duh.  ‘Course if it were not that they usually take others with ‘em, I’d just consider it Darwin in Action.

Ok—but it’s still legal [not smart - legal] to look up, read, select and enter a phone or name to make a phone call.

Hokayfiiiine.

The real quirk is the focus on text-based communication. Video conferencing? Gaming? Entering text into an electronic diary? Maintaining a to-do list? Not prohibited by this law.

  1. Yebbut - there is a catch-all provision against “driving while distracted”.

It’s a celebration of the rise of moronism that makes the “no-text” law necessary.  We cretins really need to be protected from ourselves.  And from the other cretins.
