http://www.lt-smash.us/archives/003071.html#003071 to coin a phrase: "it wouldn't be prudent" This is just wrong:July 19 issue Newsweek - American counterterrorism officials, citing what they call "alarming" intelligence about a possible Qaeda strike inside the United States this fall, are reviewing a proposal that could allow for the postponement of the November presidential election in the event of such an attack, NEWSWEEK has learned.
So far this seems to be exclusive to Newsweek. My impression? I'd don NBC gear and climb over stacks of alQ bodies in order to vote. To do otherwise is the very definition of UN-American. [no matter who you intend to vote for...] Your thoughts? . AND MORE: Does it strike anyone else that it's dam-near an invitation to not only alQ but any Moonbat outfit of our own to blow shit up?!?! UPDATE: Ok, ok -- that was me shooting from the hip. Now go read Citizen Smash for the well-reasoned, thoughtful approach -- which I agree with.
I hear ya on this one for sure…
Even if it doesn’t disrupt the actual election...I wonder how many people aren’t going to go to the polling stations because they’re spooked by this?
I’ll just bring a gun and go...come hell or high....Posted by SondraK on 07/12/04 at 11:36 AMWe do need an orderly method to reschedule. Suppose an attack taking down the electrical grid in a large portion of the country, so many areas are using electronic means of voting. Or the transport grid.
I can think of half a dozen scenarios that would make it physically impossible for large percentages of voters to get to the polls, not all of them involving terrorism.
It never hurts to follow the Boy Scouts’ motto.
