Mister the Owl Stolen by Wild-Life-Facists

A pet owl named "Mister" that a Guerneville family nurtured since rescuing it as a fuzzy chick more than seven years ago was confiscated [read: "stolen"] by state officials, leaving the owners devastated... Marks and husband, Ken, worry that Mister, who bonded with the family, will die from the trauma of being removed from the only environment he has ever known.

The presupposition of the Bird Rescue tightasses group and Fish and Game is that living with humans is always a bad thing for any "wild" animal. If that were the case, dogs, cats, parakeets, chickens, ducks, horses, oxen, cows, sheep, goats, camels, -- need I go on? -- would never have been domesticated. Except for vegan fools, I doubt many think so. Discouraging most people from keeping found animals is a good idea, given that most people are fools. But in an instance where there has been an ongoing positive relationship between humans and an animal they have rescued, intervention of the state is unnecessary, wasteful and cruel to all involved. Fish and Game is fulla hooey in this case.
