Remember Hossam Armanious? Amal Garas Armanious? Sylvia Armanious? Monica Armanious? Hacked to death in their home in Jersey City on January 14, 2005.
Fred Ayed, deacon of their church: “It was not a robbery. We found all of the jewelry in the house. They didn’t take anything."
Seems pretty clear. But, oops! Three days later, the story begins to morph:
Hossam Armanious’ wallet had been emptied and his pockets were turned out when he was found ... Investigators also found his daughter’s purse emptied out, and no cash in the house except a penny on the floor by their bodies.
“We have proof of robbery at this point,"
Technically speaking, yes. Taking money is robbery. What’s up with the penny? But:
Hossam Armanious’ ... was found along with his wife and two daughters, bound with fatal knife wounds to their throats.
Bound. Throats slit. Outspoken daughter with extra hackings and a stabbing through her tattoo of a cross. Not a typical robbery—even for Jersey.
Now, lookie here. This may shed some light.
ABC News has learned that the slain family’s cousin has been a translator working for the prosecution in the trial of Lynne Stewart. She is the radical lawyer accused of smuggling messages from imprisoned Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, to terrorist cell members and associates.
In case that name is unfamiliar [I still find ‘em confusing], Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman is one of the “big three” of Islamo-terrorism along with Saudi financier Osama bin Laden and technocrat Dr Ayman al-Zawahari.
Lynne Stewart, Ramsey Clark’s pal, was indicted by AG Ashcroft in 2002. More on lovely Lynne here, and, for the other side of the question, here.[do not be tempted to judge the poor woman on the basis of her appearance....]
