Lawrence Guyot “racial activist” is jumping all over the covered-it-long-ago-in-the-blogosphere “story” about the “black = looting” vs “white = finding” photo captions. [be sure to read comments to see explanation from the actual photog] And he’s got the story all wrong. We’re gonna be hearing this one for a looooong time.
“If the victims had been white the response would have been quicker.” is also a refrain I expect will be around.
The same refrain started days ago at Kos.
Is this racist? The [black] mayor of N.O. commandeered him some busses, picked up 400 tourists from the Hyatt near the river, took ‘em to the SuperDome, and dput them in the head of the line to get busses out of town, ahead of the folks who’ve been waiting at that shithole of a Dome for 4 days. [Shep story]

A third of the police deserted after the storm. An officer still working delivered a well-crafted tongue lashing to those who deserted. That officer was black.
Those police who are left seem to be doing one hell of a job. One officer - having been shot at again and again “shots coming out from the projects. I caught the flash from the last shot, put about five rounds over there. ...It quieted down.” That officer was white.

Randall Robinson at HuffPo: It is reported that black hurricane victims in New Orleans have begun eating corpses to survive. Four days after the storm, thousands of blacks in New Orleans are dying like dogs. No-one has come to help them.
I am a sixty-four year old African-American.
New Orleans marks the end of the America I strove for.
