Here’s as new one. It seems that the “pr0n” that Judge Alex Kozinski “had on his website” turns out to be a collection of files, on his in-home private server which was connected to the InterToobs, the contents of which weren’t much worse than any collection of stuffs we all get in our emailboxes.
The “shots of women’s crotches” was the “Camel Toe/Moose Knuckle” thang, though the one of women painted as cows is definitely NSFW-type graphic. The one widely described as “beastiality/man with aroused farm animal” was the video of a guy maybe taking a whiz in a field and fending off a cranky donkey while trying to hold up his pants.

Yep—lots of the material is it is downright raunchy, but I’m not sure it qualifies as described. It seems to be more in the “earthy humor” category.

Now the question arises; why would the LAT nuance this story to paint Judge Kozinski as a perv? They’re on the same “liberal” side, right? But it seems that the “source” for their story is one Cyrus Sanai who apparently has a grudge against, well, everyone in sight, Alex Kozinsky among them. Did the LAT run with it just cuz it was so irresistibly sexy and let them titillate their readers with ...uhm, sex ‘n’ stuff? Does the LAT have its own grudge against Judge Kozinsky?
Time will tell—keep an eye on Patterico to watch this layered story unfold way further than it was apparently intended to. Unintended consequences abound.
The other unavoidable question: is this the type of Free Press we want where any public figure—moonbat, conservative, whatever—can have his reputation seriously damaged in the Public Eye by some grudge-motivated wombat dropping a sexy tip on [what seems to still be known as] a major media outlet? Responsible journalists? yeesh.
I hope this incident will start a wide-ranging discussion; I think we, as a Civilized nation, have some housecleaning to do.

Nobody on the 9th Circuit gets any sympathy from me. And there is a certain irony in Kozinsky sitting on a case involving pornography.
Let’s face it - our judges (like our Presidents) ought to be squeaky-clean - ought to be Casters of No Stones.
I was waiting for Volokh to comment. From what I can find, Kozinski is one of the few good guys on that circuit. Maybe the only one.
That would certainly explain the necessity of “taking him down”.
