goldstar.jpgdick, not-quite-dead white guygoldstar.jpg—Scoop of THE WEEK !!!!!!!

Nicky Diaz Santillan emerged with her allegations about Whitman after weeks of separate discussions with Hollywood lawyer Gloria Allred and Marc Van Der Hout, an immigration attorney in San Francisco who has been trying to get Diaz legal status in the United States.

...Van Der Hout, one of the city’s pre-eminent immigration lawyers and a self-proclaimed progressive, told us Tuesday that Diaz was referred to him several weeks ago by a fellow attorney. He wouldn’t identify the attorney.

“I think someone referred her to Gloria on the matter of her hours and back pay as well,” Van Der Hout said.

But again, no names.

What followed was a series of meetings, after which Diaz “ultimately made the decision to go public,” Van Der Hout said.

...Van Der Hout, who was at Diaz’s first news conference last week in L.A., declined to say who is paying his fee for trying to win legal status for the ex-housekeeper - or even if he is charging one.

He also declined to say how Diaz has supported herself and her family since leaving Whitman’s employ in June 2009.

...Van Der Hout said he has had “no contact whatsoever” with gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown or anyone else from the Democratic Party.

So a non-party “self-proclaimed progressive” is the next step in digging this circus out of the mud....

  1. Allred has been making a fool of herself with this one.  She did an interview with Mark Levin.  Early on, he asked her if Diaz was an illegal alien.  She said no, Diaz isn’t an alien - she’s not from another planet.

In today’s heartfelt drama, Allred said that Whitman didn’t even visit her at the hospital when Diaz had a baby.  There was no mention of a Mr Diaz. While having children without the benefit of marriage isn’t the problem it used to be, it does call into question the character of Ms Diaz, who (a) applied for a job with fradulent Social Security Card &c., (b) didn’t mind fooling around while she was working for Whitman.
