Kerry -- Way to trip over your own ...uh, staff
[zen question: can something really be tripped over if it isSen. Bill Nelson suggested on the spur of the moment that Kerry and his entourage ought to go onto the Space Center itself and look at the inside of space shuttle orbiter.
...an opportunity some of us would gladly kill for. He was actually in the same orbiter that Glenn rode back into space -- Wow! [Discovery] A photo op with an American icon against the background of the most amazing accomplishment of Humanity -- American in origin. This is a political gem! A photo any sane campaign manager would lick Moore butt for. Yeah they were wearing "bunny suits" -- that is what ya *do* there. Glenn wore one too. NASA is currently preping the orbiter for flight and stray fibers or hairs would muck up the works. [duh...] Wearing a bunny suit is a mark of distinction and privilege, stupids. Being photographed wearing a bunny suit demonstrates a candidates support of "America's commitment to science, innovation and technology." So what's up with little MaryBeth Cahill and her conspiracy theories?!?
transcript of Britt Hume/Cahill interview CAHILL: well, yesterday senator john glenn, obviously he was an astronaut in his previous life sexrvings senator carr took a tour of a bio facility at nasa. it was just the two of them, and the nasa staff, and all of a sudden this is a leaked photo.
"previous life" ?!?!? *flash* John Glenn Is Reincarnated *flash*
"bio facility" ?!?! nice demonstration of dumbassedness situational awareness level, Cahill.
"Senator Carr" ?!? see above
"just the two of them" ?!? see above
"all of a sudden this is a leaked photo" Leaked, eh?
NASA sources reveal that NASA KSC gave the Kerry campaign people about 30 CDs, which were to be distributed to local media by the Kerry people. The photos in question were on these CDs. Local reporters were seen with with these CDs later in the afternoon. As such, assuming that the reporters got the CDs from the Kerry campaign, the Kerry people distributed the photographs themselves ...
Uhm... Mary Beth?
HUME: so the campaign had no idea there would be any photographs. CAHILL: none. HUME: when it was agreed he would put on his th costume. CAHILL: there was no press there. there was -- nothing. all of the sudden these photographs are out.
All of a sudden the photos the Kerry people asked NASA to make and give to them and then gave to reporters are "out!" How the hell did that happen?!?
...Since the photos were made with government resources, they were eventually posted on the KSC website - after the Kerry campign had copies. Also, given that they were produced by the government these images can be obtained via FOIA request.
1] How did Cahill not know this? *ahem*incompetence*ahem*dumbass*ahem*
2] What kind of "dirty trick smear" would -- hell, could -- NASA be trying to pull?!? [to piss off someone who might be in charge of their purse strings?] Proving that Kerry looks bad in baby blue?!?!?
To recap: What does this say about the world-view of the Kerry Campaign Staff?
They think:
1] technology is bad, evil and scary and might infect their candidate [eek]
2] people are only kewl when wearing the "right" clothing
3] they're so paranoid that they'll panic and attack just anyone for no apparent reason at all [ seriously -- isn't this sorta like the football wind-surfing jock punching out the guy with the pocket-protector and the scientific calculator holstered on his belt??]
4] they're too stoo-pud to know a good photo op when we see one [unless they stage it. Wait... they *did* stage this one...]
ThanQ! TBK

MORE:
The U.S. Office of Special Counsel has told NASA to remove all images of Kerry's visit to KSC from all NASA web sites - immediately - due to Hatch Act concerns. These images have now been removed.
And here they are -- those "un-posed" photos" ready for your PS amusement [Roger...] -- Kerry smiling at camera he didn't know was there -- secret photo [taken from 2 feet away] of Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla. explaining it all -- Kerry wearing his "normal" "kewl guy" clothing -- just as MaryBeth is comfortable with -- This one is on the edge for little MaryBeth's comfort -- Kerry took off his coat [ain't nuthin' but a hound dawg -- Kerry in his suit coat [relax MB] talking with NASA people [ and waiting for a parakeet to land on that finger] -- Kerry in his suit coat [relax MB] looking up at the new heat shield tiles -- Sen. Bob Graham (back), D-Fla., former astronaut and Sen. John H. Glenn (front left), D-Ohio, Sen. John F. Kerry, D-Mass., and Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla. "not" posing for the photographer who "wasn't there"
