where's mine?!? Did you know that you have a Right to -- Housing -- Education -- Living Wage -- FOOD?!? According to the "Poor People's Economic Rights Campaign" that is what we have a Right to. Don't it make you feel like a sucker -- working for your food and housing all these years? When it was a Right all along. doh! These fine folks will be setting up a mobile tent city at the RNC and naming it "Bushville." I guess someone read about the hobo's camps being called "Hoovervilles" in the '30s. I wonder if they read any further on the matter... This "Bushville" of homeless an poor people will move around NYC throughout the RepubliCon attempting to convince people that it is Bush's fault that these folks cannot afford were not given adequate housing. I wonder how well that's gonna go over with those people working overtime to pay their mortgage?

  1. Bush sucks big donkey balls.  I work over-time in 2 restaurants and still can ill afford to live in my trailer park.  Bush’s fault directly? no.  But the tax hike for my bracket was.  The war that raised gas prices was.  Everyone feels the burn of the Repub. admin.  YET everyone still feels the same needs they always have (most of them, anyhow) People NEED to eat out.  People NEED to buy gas and pay taxes (wheel tax in my county.  What’s THAT??) Yet, how do they still make ends meet? Most don’t feel they NEED to tip their waitress.  Standard tip is 15%.  Has been around here for the past 10 years I’ve been waiting tables.  This is how I pay my mortgage, feed my 2 kids and pay tuition (yes tuition.  I will NOT be smiling at overeaters for the rest of my life.  I’d like to raise the standard of education for my children.) But in the meantime, let’s see tipping for what it is.  It is a service fee.  It is no longer merely a thank you from the fat guy.  It is a way of life for many young parents and ivy league students with no other marketable skills.  tipping is a great way to help YOUR local economy.  Wouldn’t you like more people to afford YOUR services?  Tip us.  Or we can’t.  And there are a lot more of US than you know.  Thank GOD I live in a mobile home.  It will transport better to Bushville so I can show him my pocketbook which his administration has repeatedly “had it’s way” with.  thank you and good night, I’ll be here all week.  Tip your waitress.

  2. hmm.  Must be *gasp* another Claire.  Welcome, Claire, and may I remind you that Bush and his big donkey balls *lowered* taxes?

People *don’t* NEED to eat at restaurants—that is what’s called a luxury.  I worked in restaurants, too, during my college days.  Interest rates were 21%, then, and yet I still managed to drag in $150 or so per graveyard shift at a glorified coffee shop.

So quitcher bitchin’ and blamin’ and chill your salad forks.  And always get the drinks before you hang the ticket.

[and you might wanna reconsider that English 1A class where they discuss paragraphs and capitalization and stuff?  Dang! but that’s hard to read.]

  3. typical republican. nit-picky and nearsighted.  times have changed since college.  ‘spashly fer us salid fork chillers.  there’s a bigger picture now.  i am the demographic. i am the trod upon, so i do bitch.  that’s what an online opinion forum is for.  i’m sorry you didn’t get the chance to screen me, bus me in, or coach me before i submitted, but you’re not running for re-election, are you? (referring, of course, to the shananigans pulled by the defending champ and his aides at this years repub. convention.  as if you couldn’t guess.) go ahead. gloss over the pathetic fallicies surrounding our current leader and his administration. much like a jehova’s witness overlooks the “1976” debaucle. i’m certainly glad he’s lowered YOUR taxes.  you can afford to tip.smile

  4. You clearly don’t get the point of the post, nor of my response.  ok.  You also don’t get it that you are *not* a demographic.  You are *not* “the trod upon.” You are *not* anyone’s victim.  Your life is under *your* control.

My comment about chilling the salad forks was a suggestion, not a slur.  That is the kind of attention to detail that earned me $150 a night when my coworkers were pulling in ‘$15-20.

Now, I don’t know what you’ve been smokin’ but “this years repub. convention “ has not taken place yet, so I’m sure I *can’t* guess.  [Aug 31-Sept. 3 staytunedformore]

I do tip and I do advocate others tipping.  And when they don’t, I leave a good tip *for* them.  m’kay?  settled?

oh, and btw; 50% of the taxpayers in this country pay only four percent [4%] of all income taxes paid!  That’s right—half the income tax payers, taken altogether, pay only 4% of all income taxes paid.  That would be the 50% making the lowest salaries.  And 40% of all Americans pay no income taxes at all.  Now, what were you saying?

oh, and this is *not* an “online opinion forum.” This is a privately owned blog.  This is not a place to spew your cranky, name-calling “bitching” which you seem to think gets you out of working your way out of that trailer park.  Play nice here or go play at democraticunderground.com where you will see professional victims, bitchers and whiners at play—not that amateur stuff you’ve deposited here.

And use some damn paragraphs. Just pretend if ya have to.  I’m not gonna wade through all that dense, trackless verbiage again.
