Someone asked me today [one of us, just not a PM—yet...] as we were talking about the protests, name-calling, etc, “This Health Care thing can’t really have a chance—after all this?”
I think it still has as much chance as it ever did—maybe more. Rahm is twisting arms and thumping heads; Pelosi, Reid and the DNC Machine are making threats, Pissy the POTUS is giving everyone the skunk eye, telling citizens to “shut up”, calling folks names and throwing a tantrum.
The “Blue Dawgs: who might once have voted against this out of some semblance or rationality are essentially timid, short-sighted creatures. They are weighing the possibility of being voted out of office in a year or more [voters are like chickens—they forget by Monday what happened for Sunday dinner] against the immediate certainty of an A#1 ass-kicking from hell promised by O’Pissy & Teh ChiTownThugs, teh DNC, and Pelosi/Reid. That one commences the minute they vote.
It’s gonna be a rough one.
