The British citizen will soon have at his disposal a "completely voluntary" ID card replete with fingerprint and retinal scan chip. It will cost him a "completely voluntary" 77 quid, as well. Never mind that without it one cannot obtain a drivers' license or passport. . . Or, soon, even a container of "yoghurt." ThanQ! Group Captain
