I *Have* No Representation
which is why I write to random Senators and Reps
A sense of humor is important…
"I think if we really do care about the livelihoods of our constituents, there is only one vote, and it’s yes,” Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., said on the Senate floor. “We’re now hearing from people who say they want to buy a home and they can’t get a mortgage. …This is what is beginning to happen."
Anyone think to call your loan officer today and ask ‘em if they have any $$$ to loan?
Feinstein said she voted yes despite the fact that of the 91,000 calls she has received from constituents on this question, only 5,000 supported the measure.
5.5% Five and a half percent support. 1 out of every 400 [legal] Californians called with 95% disapproval. So what did she do?
"People don’t understand this package,’’ Feinstein said. “It isn’t a bailout. It’s purchasing strategic assets,"
Yep. She calls us idiots. Morons. If you disagree, you just don’t understaaaaaand.
Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., who also voted yes, said on the Senate floor that “I believe, and I hope, this package will do what is needed to restore trust bwaaaahahahahahahaha in the short term. For the long term, we need regulatory reform and change that makes job-producing investments in America, not in foreign lands.”
So why’re you voting to make bail-out pay-outs to foreign banks?!?
Mike McGavick? Substantial donation.
Dino Rossi? Substantial donation.
Why do I give Washington candidates cash? Because there are no Oregon Republicans that make the expense rational.
Give money to Senator Smith? With his outlook and voting record? I’d be better off sending the dough to Sens. Kennedy or Schumer, the way he votes.
And in the past eight years, the Republicans that have run for house or senate seats didn’t do the fundamentals to win. And I’m talking about campaign fundamentals...knocking on doors and asking for votes.
I’ll write a check when somebody commits to running and winning. Until then, my checks are headed to Washington.

Oh, I see. Now I feel better.
It’s a lot like the Ohio early vote, where their Secretary of State said that it was perfectly OK for people to vote early, because “they’re not voting, they’re casting ballots”.
Here’s a CNN link:
“... My favorite part of this whole thing is that according to Jenny Brunner’s people election advisors aren’t needed or required because casting ballots doesn’t mean that there is an election going on...”
To which I’d reply, OK, as long as there isn’t an election going on, there’s no need to count those “casted ballots”.
