3. The trouble is, he actually believes that stuff.

   The people of Russia who stood up and decided were rewarded with lifetime vacations in Siberia.  Nowadays the people who stand up - mostly Russian journalists - end up being killed by “mysterious unknown persons”.

   I’m trying to figure out if we’re as stupid as he thinks we are, or whether he’s as stupid as he thinks we are.  Or something.

   He could have spoken glowingly about Putin’s glamorous days in the KGB.
