The Los Angeles march and rally [Saturday March 25—10:00am—Olympic and Broadway] for [ILLEGAL] immigrant rights has the support of a large number of organizations and groups. The event has the potential of being the largest ever in the city’s history. Participating will be Los Angeles area progressive Mexican-American and Latino groups as well as other anti-racist activist organizations such as AnswerLA. A big boost for the march and rally is the participation of labor unions such as the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and the Catholic Church whose Cardinal Rogelio Mahony has instructed his priests not to obey the proposed anti-immigrant Sensenbrenner Legislation if it becomes law.
