Frants—our little amis du apaiser
This is a new Fwentch ‘zine called “Shock!” [spinoff from Hachette Filipacchi Media’s French picture magazine Choc, known for publishing photos of gory accidents and celebrities caught in states of undress*eye roll dedicated, apparently, to the principles of Yellow Journalism. Here’s their first cover:
I’m sure you recognize that as Michael Yon’s *copyrighted* photo of Major Bieger holding a little Iraqi girl named Farah who was killed by a suicide car bomber in Mosul. Clearly it was used without Yon’s permission and he’s addressing it legally. Danged stupid waste of time for a man who has done so much good and has so much more still in progress.
Here’s the cover they substituted:
Yeah—that’s what we need… More Euro-style desensitization to the ugliness of life. Thanks connard.
