On discernment, discrimination and perspective: MIA

A good description of that mental disorder which causes people to lose all perspective and, therefore, the ability to discriminate in their choices. The pain of a catch-and-release trout becomes equal to the pain of a child blown to bits by a hand grenade hidden in a doll.

It’s all about us, and in the case of Sheehan, all about me. Her loss will forever be bigger than everything else.
An apt description of narcissism, one of those loss-of-perspective mental disorders I mentioned. Interesting how a whole group can take on the characteristics of a single disorder…
