Grey Day, cont'd
Saying he realizes he hasn't ``done everything perfect'' as governor, Gov. Gray Davis said Wednesday he would fight and win a recall election that was poised to be certified as early as tonight.
Including that part about speaking English -- even American? [petty, I know... I'm a language snob; it grates.]
``Remember, there's a lot more people willing to vote against the recall than there are who think I'm doing a good job,'' Davis said. ``If you look at those voters, they say, 'it's not fair to blame this on the governor.' It's that sense of fairness that I think will carry the day.''
"there's [sic] a lot more people willing to vote against the recall than... think I'm doing a good job" ?!!? *That* victory'll feel good...
``In a strange way, this has got my juices flowing,'' he said.
Yo! Thanks for the visual, dood. [reaches for eyewash]
``I know they're hurting, I know these are tough times,'' he said. ``But if I were the only governor in the country doing something wrong, then we wouldn't have 46 other governors struggling with their budgets, making cuts, having to raise taxes.''
So, your logic, brainiac, indicates that if there are 46 other governors struggling, it excuses your immense lack of ...uh tact with the whole power/PG&E debacle? I see. "Hey, Mooom! All the *other* governors are doing it! Why can't I?!" "Now, Grey. If all the other governors were to jump off a bridge, would you?" Hey.... no, no, no, no, no, no, bad. Update: Even the newsreader on KGO is mocking "done everything perfect." Petty, yes -- but it's not Just Me©!
I think he just worked the political system backwards. You’re supposed to work it so nobody gets everything he wants but nobody is pissed enough to do anything about it.
Apparently he never got the memo.
This has been a very long time coming. I can remember hearing pissing and moaning about him when I was living in Hollywood and Three Strikes was the current political problem he was behind.
